We will look at the evidence in all the cases provided to see if a conclusion can be made on why the Zodiac Killer was never caught. Try to see into the mind of a serial killer that to date is still unknown. Why did he do these things? Why did he target his victims? What do you think his triggers might have been? These are questions I would like each reader to think about after reading this paper.
The Zodiac Killer
According to Wikipedia.com, the Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who operated in northern California in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Zodiac murdered victims in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969. Four men and three women between the ages of 16 and 29 were targeted. They knew the letters were authentic because they would describe graphic descriptions of the murders that were never released to the public. The Zodiac signed all the letters with a symbol that resembles a target. During the time of the letters, he sent 4 cryptograms to different newspaper editors and said if anyone could decode them; the police could learn his identity. To date only 1 of the 4 have been deciphered and a local high school teacher did it at the time.
Conclusion Many have tried to figure out who the Zodiac Killer was but no one has ever been successful. Even his cryptograms left behind could never be deciphered. The Zodiac in my opinion hated couples and the last killing was just for fun in my opinion. I believe he was a deranged man who was either hospitalized or arrested for another crime, which is why the killings stopped after Paul Stine. Will we ever know for certain whom the Zodiac Killer was? I guess the world will never
