International law is a legal system that regulates international relations, especially those of states and international organizations. The nature and characteristics of international law reflects the nature and characteristics of the international community. To understand international law we need to understand international community.
SOURCES OF INTERNATIONAL LAW They can be separated into 3 major sources: Treaties/Conventions, Customary International Law (CIL), General Principles of Law (GPL) and 2 subsidiary sources: Judicial Decisions/academic opinions and State practice and Unilateral acts of subjects of international law.
