Summarization of 1 Corinthians 2 I must start off by saying “The Lord works in mysterious ways!” I was struggling with which chapter to pick granted by the time I chose there was only 5 un claimed chapters left. So, I read each chapter and nothing was jumping at me saying this is the one you need to choose, so I prayed on it. The answer did not come directly either, but it came out in a bible study that I just started going to with a few of my neighbors. When the topic came up “how do we know the Spirit is in us?” It reminded me of Paul and how he started out 1 Corinthians Chapter 2. “4 My message and my preaching where not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power”, (1 Cor. 2:4). Saying he wanted their faith to be in God’s hands not his own. The Spirit’s power was demonstrated with healings and other gifts as we wrote about in other letters (Rom 15:18-19; 2Cor 12:12; Gal 3:5). In the next part of the Chapter Paul preaches Gods wisdom not man’s wisdom. Paul wanted the Corinthians to realize that the “mystery” refers to god’s truth being hidden to non-believers and revealed to believers. That his time line for things was not for the rulers of their day but for God and his followers and the only way they could understand was having the Spirit of God in them. That the only one who can truly know them is their spirit as the only one who can know God is the spirit of God. So, he wanted them to let themselves be filled by not their spirit but the Lords Spirit. He also goes on to finish the chapter by saying believers should not allow non-believers to judge them that the only one capable of judging them is God. From my understanding, he was not saying that believers did not deserved to be judged he just wanted to make clear to the Corinth Church
