Imagine if you woke up tomorrow morning feeling 10 foot tall. Feeling fearless and ready to conquer the world.. ready to spin it round and shoot hoops with it. What would you conquer first..standing there in your dressing gown and sticky-up hair? What difference would you make in your work and home life? We all have the ability to feel 10 foot tall (even me, a mere 5ft, 2 and a half). Clichéd as it sounds, it is true none the less. So.. What is restraining us from unleashing our full potential on the world? Our self-limiting beliefs. We all have them. Whether it's a strong inner critic holding us back, low self-esteem, or imposter syndrome. Have you lost your mojo? Or are you busy being busy, but not productive? Focus. Imagine for a moment that we really were going up Everest. We would be keeping an eye on each other for frost bite, lethargy and exhaustion. We would keep reminding each other to focus on the top. To just keep looking up. Whatever our daily trials and tribulations, we would not wait around, we would have to keep going. This is Everest, it is not a walk in the park. It is challenging for a reason. We have to have fierce resolve in our passion to get there. To be relentless. Gutsy. We have to rock the boat, challenge, and push back on that and those which would make our focus waver. We should check that this is still the right Everest regularly, and that everyone on the team is with us and still has their inner core of steel and self- propulsion. There is a 'watch out' though. A potential avalanche. Working at 'breakthrough' and 'top of your game' level, brings the risk of mistakes. You can't have one without the other. Prepare for, and expect this. Make sure that when they happen, they don't send any of you hurtling back down the mountain. Collaborate with other teams. Make sure that when you pass the ice pick (think baton) from one team to another, you do it with finesse, and always with the customer and bigger picture in
