Hayes What is known as the compromise of 1877 was an undocumented deal that accommodated both sides of the party running for presidency and ended the reconstruction era a term that is used to cover two parts one being the entire history of the country following the civil war which ended in 1865 and the other focuses on how the southern united states and how they build back up after the war. With the south being so vulnerable the election for presidency the election was a way of them gaining some sort of leverage. Black republicans gained no benefit from this compromise at all. They lost their power in politics.

Drew Hayden Taylor writes, in his 1991 essay, about his life being a First Nations man but looking “Pretty like a white boy.” He writes about how he witnessed and heard so much racism towards First Nations people because people thought he was Caucasian. Taylor tells us all through out his essay that he is judged by both races for not “looking the part” of a First Nations man. At one point Taylor tells his readers about an especially embarrassing moment while visiting a trapper woman and her kids.
Chris McCandless was found September 6th, 1992 by moose hunters. The pungent smell of his decomposing body led them to find the bus. There was an S.O.S. note explaining Chris’s dire conditions, attached to the front door. After, arriving in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1992, young McCandless lived on the abandoned bus close to Denali National Park. Choosing to live in isolation for 4 months, he survived off small animals, potato seeds, a large bag of rice.
Chris McCandless was an American adventurer who traveled to the Alaskan wilderness in April 1992. He look little food and equipment with him, before embarking on his journey McCandless abandoned his car and burned his money. He wanted to live simply in solitude away from the materialistic world. Timothy Treadwell, an environmentalist, also ventured to Alaska to study grizzly bears. Both Chris and Timothy set out to explore what the wilderness had to offer and they didn’t let anyone stop them from doing what they desired.
The story behind Dale Earnhardt Jr's racing career As many of you probably know Dale Earnhardt Jr recently retired after the 2017 season. Dale Earnhardt Jr was liked by almost everyone in the sport of nascar, not a lot of people had a problem with Dale. When everyone found out Dale was retiring they was in shock that it was so soon. So in the rest of this paper it will talk about Dale’s career leading up to his retirement and all the great accomplishments he had, and what made him retire so early in his career. To start off this paper it will talk about how the beginning of Dale’s racing career.
Augusta Savage was one of the many women and men of color who participated in the Civil Rights Movement. She is known for her intricate dedication to sculpture and art and is remembered as an artist, activists, and educator, serving as a guiding light for her pupils, students, and those who she exposed her art to. During the Civil Rights Movement, Augusta Savage managed to make art inspired by the Civil Rights Movement and was a huge figure during the Harlem Renaissance, a period of Jazz music, art, and film. Yet, every artist have a beginning to a legacy of success and prosperity, and not much is known to juniors my age of how Augusta Savage has dedicated and contributed to the Harlem Renaissance and escorting an illumination on African Americans today. Augusta Savage was born February 29th, 1892 as August Christine Fells in Green Cove Springs, Florida.
Longtown, Ohio is one of the only places where races didn’t matter two centuries ago. Interracial marriages were happening here without argument or trouble. This system of liberty and freedom of the races was founded by a freed slave from Virginia named James Clemens, who later became a rich farmer, but this system is close to being abolished because of the decrease of the original Longtown population. Their places are being taken by whites and they are also purchasing their property. This will eventually move out the people of Longtown and be a city of whites.

An essential part of modern society relied on trust, especially the trust of doctors and scientists. People had the right to make an informed decision about their bodies and body parts. People had a right to their body parts, both attached and cell samples collected by doctors. The actions that the medical professions made will continue to affect future generations in both positive and negative ways. In the contemporary biographical novel, the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Rebecca Skloot used logical opinions to argue about the importance of consent to reveal the lack of morality from those in the medical field which continues to persist today.
Hyeonseo Lee North Korean Defector Change, hope, and justice, are all things North Korean defectors, including Human Rights activist Hyeonseo Lee, wish for in the harshly governed country of North Korea. Many people know about the story of Hyeonseo’s escape from the unethical dictatorship of the Kims. But she was so much more. As a Human Rights activist fighting for a change of the corrupt and cruel system of government in North Korea, she is trying her best to inform people of how terrible and a dire situation it is in North Korea. Through this, she is showing her defiance publicly towards North Korea, when just a little over a decade before, she was expressing absolute loyalty and respect towards the Kims.
The story would be very different if it was set in another time or place because of various reasons. Depending on the era, the Loser’s Club, which is comprised of the seven main characters in the story, would probably be much safer, have different ideologies or have different personalities overall. If the story would have been set in a time when the human race has established colonies all over the galaxy, readers would most likely find them to have different fears. This alteration would reshape the story significantly as the concept of the ways IT does to terrorise the children stems from his preferred false appearance, Pennywise the dancing clown.

Zora Neale Hurston was a famous American novelist, active during the Harlem Renaissance era. A talented short story writer, folklorist and anthropologist , Hurston wrote four novels and published 50 short stories. Zora Hurston was best known for her 1937 novel called, "Their Eyes Were Watching God". Zora Neale Hurston was born on January 7, 1891 in Notasulga Alabama, Hurston denies being born in 1891, and claims she was born in 1901.
In 1944, Ted Hall, a scientist working on the Manhattan Project and in the U-Committee, had to make the decision as to what American secrets he thought were important to share with the Soviet Union. Ted Hall made the decision to tell the Soviets about the Atomic bomb. He thought it was right to share the secrets because the U.S, Britain, and the Soviets (Allies) were supposed to be working together. The reason the U.S kept it from Stalin was because they didn’t know what would happen if he got hold of a bomb that was so powerful. Although the U.S government determined not to share information with the Soviets, a young, arrogant Ted Hall decided on his own to try and make peace between the countries and spy for the Soviets.
