The 21th century marks unique demographic transitions in human history. In the United States rural people outnumber urban people in 2000, but from 2007 onwards people began moving out of rural areas to urbanized cities. Because people are moving out of rural areas they become more involved in urban jobs and women begin to work meaning they do not have time to have children. Human population has never grown at such speed before the 1900s and does not seem like it will ever happen again. There was a drastic population decrease since the early 70’s and again this relates to the lower birth rates around the world. Population growth has not come to an end; population growth is still greater than experienced in the 70’s. Most of the human population growths occur in LDC’s increasing by about 76 million people every four years. Because of the rapid population increase, they attract political attention. Countries now that experience low population growth rate, meaning not many children are being born, that means older people outnumber older people. The Earth is known to providing room for food and about 50 percent of people are growing their crops/cereal grains that feed billions of people. Being on a vegetarian or vegan diet helps people in LDC because the grains used to feed cows could be used to feed starving people. Cows are meant to eat grass and graze so why do people feed them grains and other things that people who have no food could possibly eat? This could help lower death rates in LCD’s since the one of the major causes of death is starvation. LDC’s have a higher number of children that elderly people.
