There are five school-based prevention strategies. The first is the Cognitive strategy which increases student awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and delinquency. An example of this would be the D.A.R.E program which is a program to help prevent kids from using drugs and alcohol. The second strategy is Affective which improves students' psychological assets and self-image to give them the resources to resist antisocial behavior. The third strategy is behavioral which trains students in techniques to resist peer pressure. An example for these strategies would be a teacher explaining to students the affects of doing drugs and how peer pressure can cause someone to get in a lot of trouble.
