The Terrorist attack on 9/11 everyone was in awe. Something like this made us think about what we need to do to keep our freedom safe “The aftermath of the tragedies of Sept. 11, 2001, made America redefine freedom and security”(Airlines security policies post 9/11). Airport security around the nation had to make major changes. The first thing they changed was that ID name and picture had to match what was on your ticket. This made sure that no person could sneak onto an aircraft.
• There are reports that the September 11 attacks killed 2,996 people and injured more than 6,000 Americans. These deaths included 265 that were on four aircraft, 2,606 deaths just within the World Trade Center and surrounding areas, and the Pentagon had 125 deaths. These deaths weren’t necessary if the government was behind this evil intention just to bring Americans together for support of a war against another nation.
I think that during W.W.2, When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor that it was a terrorist attack. This event reminds me of 9/11 because It happened out of nowhere. We were also not at war at the time with Iraq. The same events that could relate to each other is They both devastated America, not only that but they both attacked us with planes.
Did you know that the 9/11 attack was not the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center? On the 11th of September in the year 2001, Islamic terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes and crashed two of them in the World Trade Center in New York City. One of the other planes was crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia while the last plane was driven to the ground in a field in Pennsylvania. 9/11 changed American society by improving security but also by increasing ongoing wars. Immigration and deportation were also increased because of 9/11.

The attacks carried out on this fateful day were organized by the Islamic fundamentalist organization Al Qaeda. Over 20 years later, the consequences of these attacks still affect America. The effects of 9/11 on the U.S. include increased Islamaphobic sentiments, increased U.S. military presence in foreign nations, and increased government spending. Nine days after the events of 9/11, the President of the United States George W. Bush delivered a speech, and during that speech, he discouraged Americans from blaming individual Muslims for the attacks.
The huge attack of Iraq on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 left an everlasting impact on the US. On this day many fatalities occurred and much sadness fell upon the world. The first plane of terrorist flew into the North Tower, with a couple of minutes between the second plane flew into the South Tower. Up until the 9/11 incident, most people including myself were under a false belief that the U.S. was secure from any threat and/or harm by outside militant groups. Moreover, the attacks harmed Islamic views, increasing stereotypes and biases.

The terrorist attacks of 9/11 affect America today because they instigated the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and the “War on Terror,” and led to an increase in anti-Muslim hate crimes. “Often referred to as 9/11, the attacks resulted in extensive death and destruction, triggering major U.S. initiatives to combat terrorism and defining the presidency of George W. Bush,” (9/11, 2010). The most noticeable of these effects was the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.

Still, the remnants of a terrorist attack on the Twin Towers lingers among the public’s mind. Security has been beefed up with extreme standards, stressing the safety of the American public from eminent attacks. This has also created a boost in awareness to suspicious activities and personnel. To some, the ignorance is stronger than most because of the belief that the actions committed on 9/11 were meaningless, that it didn’t change a thing in American society.
