I as a student has poor acknowledge, but I like reading the "A Dream Of Red Mansions", and I also saw the 87 version of the TV series. This time, I select part of Mr. Yang’s English translation to do a simple appreciation. Seen from the chapter titles The title of each chapter in the traditional Chinese chapter novels is the key that readers reads the whole language of that chapter, which is a form of the sentence between the poem and the prose. This kind of title overview concentrated the whole story, point out the hero and the story and arouse the reader 's interest. This literary form is unique in the novels of the world. But the Chinese people are modest, they often derogatory themselves and somone or something that associated with. We often deny the fact of praise, in order to show our modesty and respect for others. Because the polite of the original book are different from the English reader habits, so the cultural connotation of the language in the translation is very easy to cause misunderstanding. Mr Yang’s translation do not abandon the cultural factors in the Chinese culture because of the difference between Chinese and Western cultures, on the contrary, they convey the Chinese culture while conveying the original author 's intention, so that more Western readers understand China. For those typical cultural phenomena, readers will gradually adapt and understand after repeated contact experiences, which is one of the purposes of translation: let the world understand China in the trend of world cultural
