Levitt and Dubner style adds an extra effect to the book. Through multiple rhetorical strategies, the authors are able to create friendly, but persuasive writing style. The authors really used the pathos, logos, and ethos strategy when creating Freakonomics. The pathos appeal was mostly done through humor.
d. Instructional Ideas: I can have my students read this book as encouragement. Nobody is perfect, even the best, such as Casey, who gets out. If you fall, get back up. Casey did not let that strikeout ruin his baseball career. It motivates you to give your best and to never quit no matter what.

I really enjoyed reading this book. By reading this book, I have a different attitude on teaching. I always thought teaching was an easy job, all you have to do is wake up eight to three in the afternoon, teach and leave. Teaching is more than that. Even where she hit rock-bottom, there is a lesson she has displayed for all to learn. The book’s cover page is well designed to match the title, thus grabbing the reader’s attention long before the reading is started. Conversely, the table of contents looks congested which makes it rather hard to single out each topic. There were punctuation and grammar errors, missing articles and misplaced words which made the reading somewhat slow.
I found the readings informative and helpful for fully understanding the content presented in lectures. It was one of the only textbooks from all my courses I have taken so far that I enjoyed reading and looked forward to reading. I
