The night was cold the midnight mist was heavy. Charles yawning could feel a stale flavor as he inhaled the mist, he could feel the condensation in his mouth. He looked at his watch, his escort was late, and he could never make it through the forest at this hour. At least not safely, a warm air passes his ear, and Charles heart skips a beat as the source speaks. “Young man are you lost,” he says lightly, Charles turns to see a man in his mid fifties with a five o’clock shadow and a lantern. “Oh you startled me sir, are you the man that was supposed to bring me through the forest? My horse has recently came down with a flu of sorts, and I was told, by one of your acquaintances, that you know the forest well and would meet me here.” The man …show more content…

Those were the last words that they spoke for hours. The man walked with a light limp, and as Charles looked closer the man appeared to have a rope hanging from one of his pant legs. But as Charles followed its origin he could see the man possessed a tail. Confused he stammers, “Sir I believe you have a rope that is running down your left leg,” Looking back he retorts, “Do not pay any mind to that.” His top hat was also askew and appeared to be floating with a bump on both sides, looking again the man appeared to have horns. A chill runs across his body as he wonders if this is truly the man he inquired for. The man started chuckling aloud, “you are very observant Charles” the man stops walking and turns in his direction. No matter what religion, or belief an individual hails from, it can be assumed that most still fear death. However people die around us all day, and if you watch the news, death is a popular subject. As a Metallica song is titled, “to live is to die.” To some scientific theorists, there is a belief that you are never truly dead (not an afterlife). Merely the simple concept of, “energy can never be created or destroyed,” and the belief is that you simply are energy, as the hallowed equation goes, E=mc2. The idea that while your atoms lie in a different state, you are not truly dead. Past, present, and future exist together, but humans can only perceive the world in 3D. We cannot perceive the world in such a way, does that mean it doesn’t exist? That is left to the arguments of far more educated people. What about religion? Although many today are refraining from the following of religion, we can not completely prove or disprove the existence of a God(s). Illustrating a small aspect on this topic, what happens when we take an economic outlook on death.

Whether or not you believe life is a finite state we do not usually regard it as an economical effect although it most definitely is. For all intensive purposes let's look at this from the perspective the mere loss of life. If we look at events like Katrina the data could be clouded by the financial destruction to property. But for this essay the outlook is for the effect
