William Shakespeare was a fantastic play writer. He only had a grammar school education but he amazed many with his immediate success as a playwright and actor. In fact, his literary works were so well done that they are still enjoyed by people many years later. Shakespeare’s works are considered timeless. A Midsummer Night's Dream represented one of Shakespeare’s more mature writings. The play which was written for an aristocratic wedding and it reflected both conflict of love and social interaction. This play seemed to parallel Romeo and Juliet. Did these two plays represent Shakespeare’s feelings of mockery of a tragic love story? Did this represent feelings from his life? After all he left his family after just eight years and moved to London to become an actor and playwright. Neil Gaiman indicated that Shakespeare seemed to sacrifice his entire family for the dream of attaining immortality through his plays: "I'd bargain like your Faustus for that boon," is the desire Shakespeare expresses to Marlowe in Gaiman's "Men of Good Fortune"(Lancaster).
