Emily Dickson's poem namely ‘'I am nobody, who are you?'' is about us against those who prefer fame and public recognition. ‘'How dreary-to be somebody. How public like a frog'' the lines denotes that we can be recognized without much publicity in the general public. Ironically the author uses the approach to be recognized because she is perhaps being ignored. Walt Whitman's poem namely ‘'A noiseless patient spider'' denotes a mute patient spider trying to weave its web on a rock in the middle of the turbulent ocean as it is in line two, ‘'I mark'd where on a little promontory it stood isolated''. The speaker is quite worried as he compares the industrious but dejected spider to his soul who is trying to adapt the world challenges. The main theme of both poems is general isolation and despise of the less influential people in the society.
