When he was in Elmore, hoping to start a shoe shop, he met a girl named Miss Annabel Adams, who changed him. When he met her, he forgot who he was, and became another man that would not do a crime for a million dollars. Jimmy Valentine was dedicated to living a moral life because, he quit cracking safes, he earned an honest living, and once he met Miss Annabel Adams, he became a better person.

That is not a bad thing because he was just trying to hide the fact that he used to be a burglar because now he isn’t and that’s all that matters. Another reason people may think Jimmy Valentine is not dedicated to living a moral life is, in the beginning of the story, he got put in jail after he was caught breaking into safes. That doesn’t affect him being dedicated to living a moral life because, he changed into a more honorable man that was dedicated to live a moral life. The last reason someone might think Jimmy Valentine is not dedicated to living a moral life is, living a moral life means you do the right thing and in the beginning of the story, Jimmy Valentine did not really do that. Although Jimmy Valentine did make some wrong choices, towards the end of the story he didn’t make those bad choices, and even rescued a little girl from a safe.
