Culture is the glue that binds everyone together. The core of the student body is the need for feeling and belonging. Throughout my time here, I have consistently collaborated with other student organizations in cultivating connection and change. Since my freshman year, I have been involved with the University of Iowa Vietnamese Student Association (UIOWA VSA). Over the years I have held positions of marketing chair, president, and currently senior advisor. One proud accomplishment is planning and hosting our Annual Lunar New Year’s celebration at the University of Iowa Memorial Union. With attendance of over 600 individuals from the state of Iowa, we worked to raise over $4000 dollars to our philosophy in less than 6 months. A few other student organizations that I have been a part of are the Asian American Student Union and Organization for the Active Support of International Students. In addition to leadership within the University, I am actively involved in a nonprofit organization called the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of the Midwest 501(3). As a current scholar at the Marketing Institute, I have the privilege of leading and executing a professional trip to Hormel Foods Corporation in Minnesota. From this experience I have worked to connect students career interests to professional individuals. In addition, during my junior year I was a part of Hawkeye Hustle Student Origination Pitch Completion hosted by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center. With my goal of leaving a mark on campus and solving problems around campus, my team and I placed and used the funds to create a positive impact on the community and strengthen our pitch
