My first and lasting love is for the unpredictable Chelsea Football Club. They taught me to never give up or take anything for granted; that unexpected moments in life are often the best. Over the years, Chelsea’s strategic abilities to surprise even the most composed fans has been astounding. Watching them play means escaping the norm, entering the Twilight Zone’s euphoria of possibilities, with fate having no meaning. Chelsea’s performances have made me explode with pride and broken my heart more times than I can remember. Three seasons ago, after Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea won the Premier League, they finished in 8th place, and Mourinho resigned. Our outstanding midfielder, Nemanja Matic, along with our ex-manager, joined our arch-rivals, Manchester United F.C. Shocker! Despite clearly being the weaker side, Chelsea traveled from country to country beating the best teams, inserting their names into the history books. Their performances taught me winning can come down to who wants it more rather than who is better. Chelsea, a team of mature players, most past their prime, gave me hope that no dream is ever too big if I have the training, knowledge, skills, support, and courage to go for
