It's what I wanted to experience without breaking the church's rules. I loved it there and I will always love it there, but it was time to turn the next page and begin something new. I am very thankful for being given the opportunities I have been given there. Here in Richmond, it’s like coming up from underwater and breathing in fresh, new, and exciting air. With every new day comes a new experience and different opportunities are behind every curb.

I have involved with music since I was a child, however, the thought of architecture and acoustics never came to mind. When it came to high school I soon realized that there were certain designs and elements that each venue had, but never thought much of it. Until this class I never knew how much went into the design of certain architectural structures such as music venues, offices, apartments, etc. Each structure has certain design elements that make them individually pleasing to the people who interact with them. One place that I found to be interesting in regards to the acoustics in a public venue is my church back home in St. Louis, Missouri.
This religious study will define the evolutionary growth of cultural and racial diversity of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) in the late 129th and 20th centuries. The original pietisten philosophy of the Swedish protestant movement defines the foundations of the ECC in the late 19th century. However, the formation of Mission Friends societies throughout the United States, and especially in the Chicago area, prompted a break towards a more radical evangelical ideology. These “conventicles” would define a distinct American style of evangelical practice through the leadership of Carl Olof Rosenius (1816-1868) and eventually, under the leadership of Paul Peter Waldenström (1838-1917). These cultural shifts would occur during the Great Migration

Many school’s life skills programs from all over the area come to enjoy a day where they can be themselves and have fun. There is nothing more rewarding to me than to see these kids happy and to give them the chance to feel included. I have been incredibly blessed with all the opportunities the FFA has given me. The FFA takes students today and transforms them into leaders for tomorrow. Without the many opportunities that this program has given me, I would not be the person I am today.
In his 2011 essay “Cowboys and Pit Crews,” Atul Gawande said, success in the face of “complexity [in medicine] requires group success.” This concept drives the way I want to practice medicine. Complexity is inherent to medicine. It requires a multifaceted, cooperative approach to ensure patient safety and care. Most recently, I saw this in a palliative care physician.

Healthcare disparity can be explained as the gap created in the delivery of healthcare to communities which causes some communities to receive better healthcare than others. Some factors that can cause these disparities include race, socioeconomic status, location, and gender. Because of health care disparities, there are a lot of patients who are and will be at risk for many diseases such as diabetes, obesity and hypertension. These disparities negatively affect the overall cost of delivering quality healthcare and are issues that must be addressed by the people who know them best, the health care workers. Through the NURSE Corps Program I hope to help address these imbalances in underserved communities in various ways.
At seven in the morning on July 20, 2015 I arrived at LNA Health Careers School in Concord to a start of a big step in my life, not knowing what to really expect. I knew that going into this school that I would be with a wide variety of different ages. My fear was that I wouldn’t fit in and that I would be with a lot of older individuals. I continued to walk in, this is something I really wanted and knew that even if I didn’t fit in, it didn’t matter because this
The frequently described to us how we were the only ones who have come to give a helping hand. We were welcomed right away and treated like visiting family members. I expected our visit to be like us working for them, but much to my surprise, it was much more of a group effort. We all worked together to help build classrooms and other additions to their church. They treated us more like family than guests and in such a short ten days, I built friendships that continue beyond just the trip.
During this community gathering there were many more people in attendance, and I felt I was able to have a better understanding of the community
