Throughout all of the world 's history, there have been several different conspiracy theories, from aliens helping our ancient ancestors build their amazing structures, to our government being the cause of 9/11. In the late Fall of 1969, a rumor started spreading around of the famous Beatles lead bass guitarist had actually died in a fiery car crash in the year of 1966. (Patterson Online) The fans of the beatles, referred to as “Beatlemaniacs” started picking through the albums after his rumored death and began to pick out clues that referenced it. On January 7th, 1966, Paul McCartney’s car was in a crash. Hundreds of newspapers had it on their front pages, several of them had reported that he had died in the accident. The album Abbey Road is said to lead to clues about the funeral part of his death, and the album Sergeant Pepper 's Lonely Hearts Club Band is said to be the burial part of Paul 's death. The conspiracy mainly rumored itself around college campuses until Abbey Road was released. People then began discussing hidden signs that are to be found in Abbey Road. One of the easiest clues to find is how they’re walking in step across the road to the recording studio, which is said to resemble a funeral procession. John is wearing a white suit, which represents the clergy, Ringo is wearing a black suit, which is said to be the pallbearer, George is wearing jean like clothes, which is said to be “work clothes” and he would be the grave digger, and Paul is out of step, and his eyes are said to be closed, and he isn 't wearing any shoes, which he would resemble the corpse. (Beech Online) Another clue is the Volkswagen found on the side of the street behind them. The license plate reads “LMW 28IF”. The “LMW” is said to be abbreviated for “Linda McCartney Weeps” and the last line of the plate is supposed to mean he would have been “28 when Abbey Road was released IF he had lived”. The back cover of the album also is said to have some clues. It reads Beatles Abbey Road. It shows eight dots beside the word Beatles, and conspiracists believe that if the dots are connected that it forms the number 3, which would mean “Three Beatles remaining”.
