In “ The Crucible” by Arthur Miller, one of the characters is portrayed as the antagonist. The character that is the antagonist is Abigail Williams. In the play, she is known to do witchcraft, which was against the law at the time. Whoever would be caught doing it would receive a horrible and disturbing punishment (Miller 133). The characters would do anything to not get in trouble. Even though she was doing witchcraft, she blamed the action on Elizabeth Proctor (Miller 73). This caused unfixable relationships and trips to court. Abigail was the worst individual that was made in the plot. Abigail Williams caused many problems throughout the play.
