In this memo I will analyze, evaluate, and recommend amendments to the Code of Ethics of The Association of Business Process Management Professionals (ABPMP), and the Standards of Conduct an ABPMP members should use to support the Code of Ethics in their everyday actions and behaviors.

Code Key Points
The ABPMP bases their Code of Ethics on the phrase “The keystone of professional conduct is integrity”. Beneath that key phrase, there are three key points that are recognized, an obligation to society, an obligation to employer/client, and an obligation to fellow members of ABPMP and colleagues. The obligation to society is simply a vow not to disclose confidential information of another for a personal interest. This point is straightforward and widely recognized in ethics. The code should explain what is in those documents (other than confidential information) and how it applies to the rules in the code. The formal documents and bylaws could be touched upon in one statement in the Standards of Conduct stating; “All process management methods, procedures, and bylaws should be followed honestly, not misrepresented, and held as confidential and only shared with fellow members and leadership of ABPMP.”

The code should be rewritten to include modern technology and how its usage can reflect upon the Association. The code should include a statement such as; “All PC and Smartphone usage pertaining to the Association should reflect the Associations best interests and contain only honest and true content.” It would also be necessary to touch on internet usage with a statement such as; “Usage of the Associations intranet, internet, and websites should only be used under proper authorization for professional dealings with the Associations image in
