Abuse of power goes all the way back 100 years ago or even more. Richard Peck depicts the conflict, abuse of power, in his short story “Priscilla and the wimps”. Monk , a gang leader, is running his school like it’s his garden of eden, but e picks on the wrong kid. Then he dies. Peck tells monk’s journey to show that abuse of power has consequences. One way that Peck demonstrates the theme of this story is through the setting. Monk wanted to rule the school but Malvin didn’t want to give up his money. So, monk decided to handle it himself.
