Kay Evelyn Scott was born April 20, 1921 in Kansas City, Kansas. After Evelyn was born her and her parents Lewis Scott and Nettie Finks and her 4 siblings traveled to Hiteman, Iowa. Evelyn got married at age 15 and had 2 children Bobby and Donna Lewis. She then got divorced five years later. Evelyn then decided to move to Des Moines, Iowa with her mother and her two children Bobby and Donna. When she was in Des Moines she met a man named Lawrence Davis and then they got married. After 50 years of their marriage they decided to expand their family by having four more children Larry, Jimmy, Eddie,and Sherrie. Evelyn was originally born Kay Evelyn Scott but changed it to Evelyn Scott Davis after her marriage.
One of her major accomplishments in life was that she was an early childhood educator for the poor. She founded the Tiny Tots Child Center. Evelyn seen the struggle in the neighbors eyes so she helped them out. She opened Tiny Tots so she could babysit all of the kids so it would help their parents work more.From 1966 to 1989 she was in charge of the Tiny Tots Child center. Later on in life she changed the name to Evelyn Davis Early Learning Academy. Basically it was a big accomplishment in life because she was helping the poor work for money while she baby sat there kids all day everyday.

Like she has a park named after her in Des Moines. She has a park named after her because she was very popular because of what she did which was she helped the poor when they were struggling. Later on in life she opened up a medical clinic. Not only did she want to help the poor she wanted to help anybody else who needed it. Those were really all of her accomplishments in life.
