The Cold War was a conflict between the USSR and the U.S. that lasted for decades. The Cold War was named cold because of the shortage of actual fighting. However, this is extremely inaccurate because there was an abundance of fighting, from Vietnam to Korea to Afghanistan. In simple terms, the Cold War started by growing out of World War II.
