The Cold War was the war against the United States and the Soviet Union and their alliances that chose sides throughout the war. This started because of United States making a nuclear bombs and the Soviet Union trying to spread communism. Although the Soviet Union started the Space Race and started the spread communism ultimately the United States is to blame for the Cold War because they were good with communism for selfish reasons, started the Arms race and, built alliances for themselves first. (document f for the last reason) Throughout the Cold War the Soviet Union wanted to spread communism because they thought it was the right way to life. After Stalin won his election in 1946 he said “...The issue is now is no longer the viability of the Soviet state system, because there can be no doubt about its viability.” Since communism is about the way of everyone being equal, Stalin decided to force that on everybody who didn’t want it. In return for the spread of communism getting to certain places, the Soviet Union forced Hitler into suicide causing the United States to complete their main goal.
