What are your two strengths and what is your weakness? My two greatest strengths are my communication and problem solving skills. I excel at understanding customer needs and motivations, and using this insight to tailor selling points, to understand potential obstacles, and to devise effective solutions. My greatest weakness has been the difficult I have in declining additional work assignments.
My strongest attribute is being able to work well in a team and taking lead if needs be. I am very confident in speaking, presenting and asking/answering questions in lectures.

Upon completion of the Strengths Finder survey, I learned I have five areas of strength (Clifton & Anderson & Schreiner, 2006). These strengths are; achiever, communication, arranger, positivity, and ideation. I must admit, before taking this survey there were doubts surrounding its accuracy. By nature, I am a sceptic of this type of personal inflection conducted by an outsourced company. Prior to taking it, I kept telling myself, there is no possible way that a simple survey can give me insight on my inner workings.
One of my strengths is in creativity. I am person who excels greatly when I am able to be creative and have freedom to think outside the box. However, that can also become a weakness because for assignments that are more limited and structured I to find to be challenging. Another strength I have is being able to learn quickly from my previous mistakes. There are times where I mess up or do something wrong, but my plan is to put those failures to good use.
No one person is the same as another, we all interact, behave, think and feel differently, and I think this is what amazes me the most. One strength that is substantive to my career that I believe I have, is empathy. I have always had such an efficacious sense of empathy with the people around me.
Strengths Finder Reflection My top five strengths are adaptability, relator, maximizer, empathetic and strategic. It was not surprising to confirm my top five strengths because, in my work and social interactions, I find that I love relating with others and yearn to understand their situations and take them in that light. However, I am also a practical person who likes planning and looking at an issue from all perspectives. I, therefore, believe that I strike a balance as I am not rigid, neither am I too spontaneous, but most of all I try as much as possible to deal with a situation on its merit to maximize on positive outcomes.
To begin with, my top strength is positivity. According to Rath, “ You are generous with praise, quick to smile, and always on the lookout for the positive in the situation” (Rath p141). I believe it is always important to be positive regardless of how bad a situation is. My job is to motivate others when they become pessimistic of a certain task. This strength is essential in both school and a career as neither a classmate or a co-worker wants to surround him or herself with negativity that makes for a long day.
Gap Analysis Assessment of Strengths Using the survey instruments, I was able to identify multiple skill traits that are a strength for me. Since I will also refer to my weaknesses, consisting of three, I will choose only three strengths to discuss – Perceptive, Dependable, and Empathic. Often I analyze experiences.
After knowing what my weaknesses are, I usually try to solve them and improve my skills. For example, I’m not a highly flexible and positive person, so I seek out to individuals who are flexible and positive in their lives and ask for their advice. Another strength that I have is that I usually have a positive outlook of my improvement, because I have seen examples of those who overcome their hardships and become successful in life, so I believe that if I try hard enough, I will be able to overcome my weaknesses. I’m also confident with my listening skills and my ability to focus on others and make them feel heard. I like to start on works and projects early so that if anything comes up, I will still have time to handle it.

Reflection on the 5-Days Journey to Become a Better Listener Throughout the 5-days practice of active listening and basic attending skills in daily conversations, it was easiest for me to practice empathy. I found it easy to perceive the situation through others’ eyes and perspectives in order to capture the accurate meaning when I was nonjudgemental and listened attentively to others. As a result, I was able to develop empathic rapport in which I accurately sensed and understood others’ concerns as well as feelings as compared to when I conversed without empathy, allowing my presumptions to affect my interpretation of others’ meaning due to the need for others to agree with my worldview. Besides that, I was able to practice basic empathy, which is the second level of empathy where I paraphrased
Strengths: As a student one of my strengths is organization. I can say I can keep my school materials and notebooks organized in a way that I and others can comprehend. The reason I can say I am organized is because, I have hardly ever had in the past or present any issues with trying to find homework or assignments because I always kept my materials for each class organized and in a place I could easily find. Another strength I have is social skills. I can believe that I communicate with others well in a group.
