IV. Discussion: The authors concluded that collectively the results suggest that programs that reduce recidivism improve public safety while treating offenders in a humane and respectful manner.
A) Suggestions:
1) The authors recommended that more of these CEC (Community Education Centers) become available and put the RNR approach to good use.
B) Limitations:
1) The authors acknowledged that one of the limitations to this study is that the cognitive behavior approach also works just as well as the RNR approach.
C) Further research:
1) They stated that there are many studies are proceeding at the moment, and most are studying the ways of how we can further help offender not reoffend.
D) Critique:
I agree with the authors that having programs that include the RNR approach help rehabilitate offenders and helps them return to society easier. I believe it also helps lower recidivism rate since these offenders could find proper jobs, homes, etc., with the education that some of these programs can provide.
