Katniss as a leader falls under the Asserter leadership style. Katniss Everdeen is the 16-year-old protagonist in the book and film series The Hunger Games. Katniss at times can let her feelings take the best of her and does not think about how the decisions she makes impacts others. For example she played the love card in the games without thinking how it impacted Gabe her friend back home and how she would have to continue playing that game if she won even if she didn’t mean it. She was also about to take her life after killing coin who betrayed her as well. This would have had a huge impact on Peeta and Katniss mom who had just lost her other daughter. At the same time, Katniss is resilient even when faced through traumatic experiences. When Peeta is rescued from the Capital he hates and attacks Katniss. Instead of feeling betrayed by him, who by this point she loves, she understands that he was tortured and needs time to readjust. She is willing to wait for him and still continues fighting and being a leader so that they and everyone can have
