Effectiveness of Video Game Use with ADHD Individuals After considering the pros and cons, video games should be included and used in everyday life for cognitive benefits. Cognitive is a mental process that is related to memory, language, attention, perception, attention, problem solving, reasoning, and decision-making. Research shows that video games improve the speed in thinking of people with ADHD which in turn, speeds up reaction time in children mostly between the ages of eight and seventeen. Evidence shows that it helps improve the short and long term memory capacity and attention span of ADHD students.
