One of your greatest accomplishments was coming up with the three laws of motion. They have been used all over Fremont Academy such as: math, science and engineering as well. Sadly, our district has banned physical science. Physical Science is needed at our school, it explains why and how objects move and stop. I am writing a letter to you about my hopes to create petitions, in which adolescents can help remove this banning.
Your first law of motion, also called the law of inertia, states: “An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. An object at rest stays at rest unless it is acted upon by an external force”. In other words, when an object is moving, it will stay moving unless a force interferes with it. It also means when an object is stopped, it will remain that way unless an outside force disrupts it. For example: This morning I was riding my skateboard at a constant speed of 5 m/s. I accidently took the wrong turn and hit a tree stump. In

As long as the mass of an object is constant, increasing the force exerted onto it will also increase its acceleration”. In simpler terms, the second law is represented through the mathematical equation: F=ma. This is also translated to force equals mass times acceleration. For example: When I was pushing a box with 15 books, which weighed 20 kg l had to apply a specific force to get it moving, but when I pushed a box with 25 books, which weighed 42 kg, I had to apply twice the force I was applying on the first box because it was two times lighter. Thanks to this law we have the mathematical explanation. In addition to this, If we want to move something that is very heavy, we can use the mathematical formula to see how much force is needed, but of course you need to know the mass and
