Adolf Hitler was born on the 20th of April, 1889 in the town of Braunau Am Inn. A small town in Austria. Hitler was the fourth of seven children which three of died in infancy. At the age of just 3, Adolf Hitler and his family moved to a place called Passau, very close to the Germany - Austria border. The family continued to move around going to Leonding in Austria, and then Hafeld where Hitler's father, Alois Hitler, retired taking up a simple life of farming and keeping bees. One comrade said that if Adolf had been 3 meters to the left of where he was when the shell exploded in the dispatch runners dugout, he probably would have died. Later, after being blinded with mustard gas, while in hospital, he heard of Germany's defeat.
