“Adolf Hitler was born in Branau am Inn, Austria, on April 20th, 1989.” Hitler was the fourth child of six born from Alois Hitler and Klara Polzl. When he was only 3 years old, his family moved from Austria to Germany. As a young child, Hitler always battled his father. When his brother, Edmund, Hitler became reclusive and isolated from his family. Growing up, he had an interest in art which his father did not approve of, and he also showed an early interest in nationalism.
His father died in 1903 all of a sudden. Just two years later, his mother allowed him to drop out of his school and he moved to Vienna working as a labourer and a watercolour painter. Still being interested in art, he applied for the Academy of Fine Arts twice and was …show more content…

On November 8, 1923, Hitler and the Sturmabteilung (SA) took over a public meeting of 3,000 people in a large hall in Munich. He spoke to the people saying “the national revolution had begun” declaring the formation of a new government. After a little struggle, which included 20 deaths, the coup, known as “the Beer Hall Putsch,” failed. Three days later, Hitler was detained and tried for high treason. He served one year in prison, throughout his time there he wrote most of the first volume of Mein Kampf ("My Struggle") to his deputy, Rudolf Hess. The book was about Hitler's plans for transforming German society into a one based on race.
The Great Depression in Germany created a political opportunity for Hitler. Germans were hesitant to the parliamentary republic and progressively open to radical options. In 1932, Hitler was now up against Paul von Hindenburg for the position of president. Hitler came in second in both rounds of the election, gathering more than 35 percent of the ballot in the concluding election. The election established Hitler as a strong force in German politics.
