Right wing defenders consider social stratification as inevitable from the point of economics, natural law, and tradition. According to their opinions, there should be hierarchies and inequality which are the natural outcomes of competition in economies and traditional social differences.
Right-wing populism received its label as a phenomenon from the US-American Populist or People’s Party which was founded in 1892. This party mainly asserted farmers’ protest against tariffs and inhibitive monetary policy and against the rising costs of railway transportation. (Goodwyn, 1976) Then this phenomenon took a strong stance against immigration and invoked a sharp ‘we versus them’-rhetoric.
Right and left were firstly used as a political terminology during French Revolution (1789). Politicians who sat in the right side of the table in the French Parliament, supported monarchist Ancien Regime’s institutions. In the economic policy they support balanced budget and government spending. Regarding to the immigration policy, they demand stronger border check to avoid illegal immigration and no amnesty for undocumented immigrants. They believe that illegal immigration decreases wages for documented immigrants and citizens.
Immediately after Second World War II, right wing parties choked down to appear within Europe, because they were being accepted as toxic during the war.
