Advertisements have influenced out life from the 19 century to now. There are two advertisements that advert their product, beer. One is the Budweiser advertisement, which was published in 1960. The other one is the Corona advertisement, published in 2014. Both of them provide a relaxing environment to advertise their products. However, we can see lots of differences between these two advertisements; through the color, the layout, and the representation of the beer. Proving either advertisement could influences us in the different period. Using color is an important skill for advertisement designers to use. The Budweiser ad is more crowded and richer than the other one. The feeling of crowded brings a sense of sharing. The designer placed the beer in a barbecue party. There are meat, corn, fries, and beers on the table. Those farming products reference the sharing with other people in 1960. So, the environment of this picture helps us to in touch with your friends and have a barbecue party with beer. We can see that a man is sitting on the mid ground of the picture, and this can lead us to think this is a family party. Also, the designer even used off-screen to supply the happy party environment. However, the designer used opposite technique, in the Budweiser in the Corona. The beer sits alone on a stone on the beach. There is lots of negative space in the picture. It illustrates the loneness in the viewers heart. The idea of this ads’ layout is minimalism. This is also the idea of the people’s life now. People have too much social life in schools and companies; therefore, we need some self-space to calm ourselves down. In Zadie Smith’s article, it said “ A faintly threatening mixture of imperative and possessive forms, the transformation of a noun into state of mind. Perhaps I’m reading too much into it. On the other hand it means, simply. Go out and discover what make you happy.” This part of the article told us that nowadays, busy life and heavy work make us feel
