Analysis of Lesson Plan The lesson that was picked for the 2nd graders is a lesson about Africa. The name of the lesson is called Africa, A Look Through the Eyes of a Child. From this lesson student will be able to explore literature about Africa and exhibit an interest in learning more about it. This unit will introduce them to one of seven continents of the world. From this lesson student will be able to ask and answer questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text. From this lesson a book about Africa would be giving t the students. They would have to share what is interesting about their book cover and to predict what it might be about. From this I believe that students will say anything because the lesson plan does not give them many action goals. Students should be told exactly what is expected from them. After students will pass their book to their neighbor. The teacher would then ask them to open the books and find a key detail to share when the timer goes off. After the teacher would ring the bell and ask questions such as: who, what, where, when, why and how about the book that each student has read about. For this lesson the objective is that after reading the different books about Africa, students will share facts with one another about what they learned about Africa and they will also construct their own Africa brochures. They will construct their own Africa brochures with the information that was taught to them and the information that they learned from the reading.
