Africans are an array of people with extreme diversity in ethnicities and statures. Although, Africans are diverse they are largely a people struggling from low economic status, lack of educational opportunities, and limited employment opportunities. This state of underdevelopment is prevalent throughout Africa, aside from a few pockets of wealth and development. This issue is largely recognized by governments and charitable organizations and action being taken to combat this, yet these institutions are investing resources and efforts foolhardily, however noble the cause may seem, to attempt to alleviate poverty and starvation.

One way in which African nations can reduce poverty more effectively is to invest resources into programs that may not have immediate results but will be astronomically more effective than the current attempts. For example, improved educational systems, scientific and technological research institutions, or a space program can have massive rewards and set Africans on the road to becoming competitors internationally in economic, scientific, and technological ways.
African economies are mostly comprised of agrarian work, which is inhibiting to the economy of Africans because fluctuations in the weather and climate, most notably global warming, can have huge effects on the economy and wellbeing of the Africans. Therefore, it is vital that Africans invest in technologies and new markets that can widen their economy and decrease dependence upon select sectors. Although, this shift will not be immediate because the success of a particular sector of an economy is heavily reliant upon having a strong base. The base may be that be infrastructural, monetary, or having a wide pool of strong perspective workers depending upon the department. This base must be built up by having resources and funding continually poured into it to create a solid base for that sector. A
