The genre of mystery is very exciting and involving. Even more exciting is the mystery writer from England, Agatha Christie. Agatha is known as the “Queen of Crime,” thanks to her world-known short stories, novels, and plays. The British television series, Doctor Who, recognized Agatha’s intriguing personality and life story and decided to create an episode titled “The Unicorn and the Wasp,” featuring her as a well-respected guest at a party. The episode has many similarities and differences when juxtaposed with the facts about Agatha’s mysterious disappearance, samples of her work and characters from her pieces, and details about the dinner scene in one of her stories, And Then There Were None. In the show, The Doctor and Donna go to a party in the past; Agatha also attends. The Doctor tells Donna in a side conversation that the party they are going to is on the same date that Agatha Christie went missing. While being chased by a large wasp at the party, Agatha gets into a car and drives to a lake, where she parks the car beside the lake and kills the wasp ("The Unicorn and the Wasp"). Agatha truly did park her car beside a lake and disappear shortly thereafter, leaving her car to be found without her (About Agatha). When she drives the car to the lake, a pendant that is linked to her existence is thrown into the water, affecting her physical health. The pendant was the source of life, so by throwing the pendant she killed the wasp and risked her own life. When the pendant was destroyed, she experienced a short moment of weakness, in which The Doctor claims she has memory loss (“The Unicorn and the Wasp”). Agatha claimed that she had amnesia, a cause of memory loss, when she did go missing in real life. This was her reasoning for not being able to specify where she had been or who she had been with (About Agatha). Agatha tells The
