Before being sent to Alcatraz Prison in 1934 for a tax evasion conviction, he had amassed a personal fortune estimated at $100 million as the head of the infamous crime syndicate. Al Capone was born in Brooklyn Massachusetts, to an immigrant family. His dad was a barber and his mom a seamstress. Al had a total of seven brothers and sisters. They immigrated here to the United States from Italy. His parents immigrated here to live a better life and to offer their children a better future than what they could do in Italy.
