Genies granting three wishes are a fable that every person has at least once in their life wished there were such a thing as magical genies. If there were enchanted lamps and after rubbing it a genie came out it would give us a chance to wish for three things that can change our lives. Telling a story about a person getting the opportunity to discover a genie and is promised three wishes should be a fun tale to tell. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 31st animated motion picture Aladdin has made our fantasies about genies come true with a colorfully bright extravaganza. Aladdin has a fast pace story, amusing characters, beautiful animation, and new catchy songs that makes it a real treat. The genres that the story of Aladdin intermixes are comedy, adventure, musical, and romance. Aladdin is showcased with a loose comedic tone, and it never takes itself on a serious tone like Disney’s earlier animated feature Beauty and the Beast. This gives the film a fun and relaxing night out at the movies, and just having fun with all the screwball humor. The core to Aladdin’s humor comes from Genie. Genie is the crowd pleaser that makes the experience of Aladdin such a blast. All of Genie’s personality is brought to life by the hilarious Robin Williams. Robin Williams brings his talent of improvisation comedy and warm personality in making Genie the most loveable and hilarious character in the whole movie. The animators did their talent in animating Genie as a magician that performs flawless magic tricks as he transforms into different famous celebrities, animals, and things that Robin impersonated.
