“Thomas Edison’s last words were “It’s beautiful over there.” I don’t know where there is, but i believe it’s somewhere, and I hope it’s beautiful.” The last line of the novel is incredibly symbolic to the whole plot and story of Alaska, Pudge, The Colonel and Takumi. This ending is both climactic and anticlimactic. The end of the novel is when Culver Creek is on it’s last day of school, students are leaving to go home for the summer.

Imagine a being in line to vote for non-slavery in the newly established state, Kansas, right before the voting house became overfilled with southern voters voting on slavery. The Kansas-Nebraska act allowed the people of the Kansas and the Nebraska Territories to vote on whether the state is a non-slave or a slave state. The Kansas Nebraska act should have never happened because it overturned the Missouri compromise, violence broke out in kansas, and southern voters illegally voted in the kansas voting. One of the main reason why the Kansas-Nebraska act should have never happened is because it overturned the Missouri Compromise which was made official in 1820. For example, “To win southern support, Douglas proposed that slavery in the new
Though the Alabama Constitution of 1875 came seven short years after the adoption of the previous state constitution, it came under much different circumstances. The Alabama Constitution of 1868 is known as the “reconstruction constitution” because Congress unofficially required the proper changes to be made to the 1865 constitution to be granted their seats in Congress. However, the Constitution of 1875 undid most of this progress as it came just shortly after the federal troops had left the state. The 1875 Constitution showed the desire for Alabama citizens to return to their style of government before the Civil War. Though the 1875 Constitution was not a complete overhaul of the 1868 Constitution, the changes that were made showed the strong
Effects of the 2013 government shutdown on the Alaskan king crab industry. In 2013 the government shutdown created mass hysteria in every crevice of political media. Seeming like sanskrit to the unaffected individual, the shutdown was the second longest shutdown in American history and the most significant in the context of employee furloughs. The root of the shutdown was derived from a the loss of quorum between the democrat led-senate and the Republican led house of representatives in passing the implementation of the ACA (affordable care) mandate.
American Constitution Introduction History shows that pluralism is linked to democracy which is a system characterized by checks and balances of autonomy or power. Such autonomy is the one in play in forging an agreement of the general interest that dictates administrative strategy or policy framework. On the other hand elitism notion regarding the administration states that a chosen few of the most affluent and influential people or groups direct and influence public policy that works in their favor and satisfies their own interests. Various scholarly standpoints reveal that a more contemporary notion of American administration and partisan matters incorporate the two worldviews of partisan behavior.
Popular sovereignty was first named “squatter sovereignty” by John C. Calhoun and that name was adopted by its rivals. The more familiar meaning of popular sovereignty is that the government is created for the people and by the people. But before the civil war, popular sovereignty was referred to as a political policy that the people who live in a specific area should chose how they are governed. Then in U.S History, it was applied mainly to the idea the settlers of federal lands should decide the relations under which they would join the Union, but mostly applied to the position of free or slave. Congress attempted to make popular sovereignty the “law of the land” with the Compromise of 1850.
Living in America is a privilege considering all of the rights we, U.S. citizens are given. These rights include freedom of speech, freedom of press, trial by jury, right to bare arms, right to vote and so many more basic things people should be given. But back in the colonial era the colonists didn’t have any of these rights that they thought were “unalienable rights” meaning every person should have them and they can't be taken from us, so they fought for those rights. And because of this war we now have so many rights that we take granted of every day and love. Some of these important rights also include the right to a capitalistic economy and a fair chance at wealth and gain.
I think the articles need to be replaced. Letting the states retain their individual sovereignty, freedom, and independence leads to rebellion. There needs to be a strong national government that sets economic policies and has more power. “The suffering part [people], even when the minor [minority] part, cannot long respect a Government which is too feeble to protect their interest.” The federal government is too weak and powerless to help its citizen, and as a result states don’t show real respect to congress.
Ever since the 26th amendment was passed, eighteen year olds were allowed to vote. This new voting age led to this new age group showing less representation than older groups. It was then thought of in the Montgomery County to try and change this, so they lowered the voting age to sixteen. This new way of thinking was brought up to try and bring up the amount of young voters they see less of in elections. I support this new change because it seems like a good idea to let younger people have the chance to voice their opinions.
