I wanted join Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. sense my sophomore year of college. I want to have the brotherhood to help me grow intellectually, socially and intellectually. All these things I want and support I have seen in various moment through my experience with the brother of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity,
I, Brother Andrew Wimp, am stating my intent to run for the President of the Kansas Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. I believe myself to be qualified to preform and execute the obligations and duties as our chapter president, through being an active leader, the ability to run a productive executive board, and continuous, effective communication with the chapter, alumni, and the university. With the obstacles facing our chapter now, I feel the primary issues are our continued growth through recruitment and retention, our culture and identity, and the personal growth of those within our chapter. If elected as our next president, I will work with each position on the exec board to help them set goals they would like to complete for the semester and develop a list of short term goals that can be worked on month by month. By doing this, we will have a sense of guidance for each
We hope you will remember these years fondly — the bonds of friendships you made, the opportunities for self-growth that defined you as an individual, and the intellectual development you experienced both in and out of the classroom. The Fraternity wants you to remember that this is not the end of your experience as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, but another
My increased desire to become an Alpha Man has been driven by my lifelong history and encounters with many of my past educators that are Alphas. I grew up in a typical underrepresented environment that had a big impact on my everyday life, from drugs, gangs, and a lack of ambition. Somehow that changed when I went to school, there where men in my schools that looked the same as the ones in my community, but the way they dressed and carried themselves was different. I later learned they were men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Kappas Alpha strives to bring about a more perfect union among men by building strong brotherly bonds and supporting each other in order to achieve our personal and collective goals regardless of race, ethnicity , gender, or socioeconomic status. Kappas Alpha Psi values physical fitness and encourages its members to live healthy and active lifestyles along with community service and leadership development. Health and wellness are integral parts. The fraternity mission from participation in sports and fitness events among its members and the wider community.
I understand that not all brotherhoods are especially positive and have approbatory aims. For instance being part of a gang may mean you have a support system and are part of a brotherhood, but it does not mean you are bettering yourself. One other main reason why I have a desire to become a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is because I want to have positive impact on the community around me, whether it be Temple University’s community or the general Philadelphia area. It would bring me great joy to be a part of an Alpha Phi Alpha project that would include reaching out to the youth of Philadelphia.
During my time at NTH@C, I experienced an extraordinary growth physically and mentally. Putting over 40+ hours into community service, spending 10+ hours job shadowing, and 15+ hours interning. After, putting an immense amount time in my academic pursuit I managed to join the National Society of High School Scholars.
After graduating from MHS, the next challenge in my mission to ascend from my circumstances was to become the best student at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). With consideration of my mother not graduating high school, it was imperative and self- driving that I reward her sacrifices by excelling in my academic career. Eager to outperform, consequently, I earned the Smeal Merit Diversity Scholarship for three consecutive years (Freshmen-Junior) at Penn State. This prestigious scholarship is only awarded to the top five minority business students at Penn State. In addition to my academic successes, I became very active on campus and served as a leader at the top of four different campus-organizations.
The Goodnight Scholarship at North Carolina State University is an opportunity like no other. Going beyond providing the financial means for an outstanding STEM education from one of the top universities in North Carolina, the scholarship also provides recipients with valuable experiences that develop their personal, academic, and professional futures. If selected as a member of the Goodnight Scholars Class of 2027, I would be elated by the honor of participating in the program. I am excited about the prospect of being part of a community full of support, engaging in extensive professional and personal development, and partaking in service, travel, and culturally enriching opportunities. I know that the Goodnight Scholarship will enhance my
The most influential lesson that I have learned during my college experience is to not let my circumstances dictate my destiny. Instead, we must use our circumstances – both good and bad – as a method to build character. It was a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated who taught me this lesson that not only changed my insight, but also changed my life. From our very first encounter, I knew that I too wanted to be a woman that possessed these strong moral values and talents. One of my ultimate goals is to educate and motivate young women while making meaningful contributions to their lives; just like the women of this illustrious sorority has done for me.
To the women of the grad chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated: The purpose of this letter is to inform you of my interest in becoming a member of the grad chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated. My desire to inspire young men and women and make a significant impact on their lives is just one of many reasons I aspire to join your great sorority. While growing up at a young age my mom worked out of my sibling lives. I did not have many positive female role models I could look to for guidance in different situations.
“The chief significance of Alpha Phi Alpha lies in its purpose to stimulate, develop, and cement an intelligent, trained leadership in the unending fight for freedom, equality, and fraternity. Our task is endless.” Jewel Henry Arthur Callis. Since its founding Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity has remained loyal to its ideal of providing advocacy for its community.
“Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise, I rise, I rise.,” to become a Delta Woman. When asked to express why I should be awarded the honor & pleasure of being apart this great sorority; I must admit I was a bit overwhelmed but also very humbled. However, I am reminded of the great women Delta Sigma Theta has helped mold some of the most influential women in the world. I want to be apart of the most illustrious sorority organization.
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
Explain your interest in joining Phi Delta Epsilon-MA Alpha Chapter. * I want to join Phi Delta Epsilon because it would provide me the chance to build lifelong connections and gain networking opportunities. Most importantly, I see myself forming a bond with other members, studying and sharing memories of what it’s like to be a premedical student at UMass Boston. The ability to connect, strive for success and learning from others with the same goal to attend medical school is what I’m truly seeking as a hopeful applicant of PhiDE. Joining the fraternity is the beginning phase of my strenuous road to become a successful physician.
