Introduction As an individual can see they’re many flaws within our criminal justice system in the United States, however when you step back and deliberate the situation these flaws are not only occurring within our legal system; they are arising within other countries legal systems as well, such as in Perugia, Italy where the Amanda Knox case has been staged for the past six years. Amanda Knox is a well-known individual internationally for the conviction of murder for her roommate, Meredith Kercher. She was born to the parents of Curt Knox and Edda Mellas, who soon divorced shortly after Amanda turned two. She was also the oldest child and had two younger sisters as well. Amanda played soccer as a child and later her athletic performances followed her into high school earning her the name “Foxy Knoxy” due to the way she could sneak up the field so slyly. He allowed for the DNA to be reviewed and they found the two pieces of evidence that supposedly were connecting her and him did not exist and were contaminated sources. The eye witness as well that had claimed to see Amanda and Raffaele outside the cottage the night of the murder was an inadmissible source. On the last day of the trial the judge asked for statements by Amanda and Raffaele that they did not commit the murder. They both gave their statements passionately and emotionally. He ordered these two individuals after four years be let go. On the third of October in two-thousand and eleven, they were set free. Amanda returned home to Seattle, Washington and was reinstated at the University of Washington to further her education and Raffaele returned home to Bari, in southern Italy. As before the motivation report had to be filled out again and had to be presented once more, this time with the Italian Supreme Court reviewing it. On March twenty-sixth of two-thousand and thirteen they decided Amanda and Raffaele would go back to court. Yet again, the trial began on the thirtieth of September in Florence, Italy.
