It was a sunny day. The sun shined brightly and I, Amelia Chesnutt, was happy. It was a great day. I had the day free and I was done with collage; free days; amazing. The telephone rang and I ran inside. I answered the phone. It was an answering machine from my boyfriend Charlie: “Hi. It’s Charlie. What do you say we go to Mount Washington for a little trip? I’ll be waiting at 5:00,” I checked the clock, 4:43, just enough time to make it to Mount Washington. I leaped in to my car and drove away.
When I finished driving and I got out of the car I saw Charlie waiting for me. He was a sight for sore eyes. I kept my cool.
“Hi.”
“Hello”

We kept walking and walking until we reached the far away town of Philadelphia. There we seemed refuge by the Liberty bell and the other bell. Suddenly the nightmare struck again; big jets of fire came shooting from the sky. Charlie and I both dived under a bell he went under the Liberty and pulled it down over him and gestured for me to do the same. I did. And I waited for the storm to end. Suddenly I heard a big crash and a man’s scream then a big “VOOOOOOM” And then the scream abruptly stopped. Somehow I knew what had happened. A man was running along fast for cover suddenly he sees a sun flare bearing down on him he screams then gets incinerated. When the Storm ended, I lifted the bell of my head and lifted the Liberty of off Charlie (The bell was so thick you could not hear anything from in there.). When I lifted it all I saw was the smell of burning flesh. Inside were a crumpled shirt and pant and a little box. Suddenly I knew the origin of the scream. The sun flare had come down right in front of Charlie. The radiation got in threw the small crack. He screamed and died instantly. I screamed right then and there. And I cursed the gods, the person who had rung this bell, every living creature on this Earth. Once I gathered myself together I looked at what was left. His shirt and pants obviously, but what about the tiny box. I opened to find…a small diamond studded
