Young states that Hollister’s décor creates “an environmental proxy of the average Friday night (Young 732)” which means it is an environment that young people can relate to. The store has trees in random places and its dark with loud music. It causes people to stop and look at everything in the store. Young’s dissatisfaction with the concept of immersive retail as exemplified by Hollister’s flagship store is that Hollister “produces basic items of OK quality for not-cheap prices”(Young 731). Products that have an OK quality should have a reasonable price to go along with it.

Nordstrom’s store interior design has a traditional wood, elegant appearance and, at the same time, conventional. From the main entrance, people can appreciate the illuminated interior lights of Nordstrom with its picturesque windows placed on both sides of the door where they used to collocate inanimate mannequins dressed in the last attire of the season; a festive recreation to enhance consumerism or, Nordstrom’s’ magazines postcards. The retailer entrance is like a short tunnel, an abstract or geometric museum painting that magnetizes people to discover their merchandise variety. At the end of the entrance, in the form of the mini art exhibition tunnel, people can find an empty corridor of merchandise that give people a sensation, a wider and more orderly view of the store, which takes people to the heart of Nordstrom store, the stairs.
These qualities make it the best place to find items you would buy for sports or travel. They sell items from tons of major brands for clothing and sports but for cheaper than it is priced at from the actual store. The clothes, footwear, or other merchandise last longer than from other retail stores. Normally, when retail stores sell merchandise from big brands, they last about a week before they shrink in the wash or rip while it is in use. Their broad collection of every item in the store makes sure that people can get what they came to buy.

What I observed from two clothing stores: Old Navy and Goodwill is that the environment of a business is what you pay for it to be. In this circumstance customers purchasing things at Goodwill are paying very little for the products they are purchasing, whereas at Old Navy customers are paying a good amount of money for their purchased products. This often leads to the investment in the environment of the store to vary. Goodwills environment was dark which prevented sight of available options, was dirty which made shopping uncomfortable and, clothing was disorganized which made finding things take longer. I believe these circumstances are the way they are because the company does not pay to staff employees that are responsible for cleaning, organizing, and, changing light bulbs.

When it comes to athletic apparel, the first company people think of is either Nike or Adidas. Why is this so? Both Nike and Adidas have done an impressive job in marketing their products, with popular spokesperson like Kobe Bryant or Derrick Rose. Nike’s success is attributed to its products contributing to the success of the athletes who purchase them. Nike and Adidas seemed as though they had control on the athletic apparel oligopoly, but recently, Under Armour has become a serious competitor to the two companies.

2.0 Competitor Analysis The industry that Under Armour is involved with is extremely competitive, with competing against big names such as Nike or Adidas. Although it’s hard at the beginning, but customers want to have the highest quality apparel therefore they turn to Under Armour. Under Armour stays in the competition by having high quality products, and also by signing endorsements deals with major athletes (Owusu, 2017). By having major athletes represent Under Armour, means the company will be bringing in "big money" because they will bring up the brand’s popularity. The major competitors in this industry are of course inclusive of big names such as Adidas, Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Puma.
