Cultural Differences Between Old Navy And Goodwill

What I observed from two clothing stores: Old Navy and Goodwill is that the environment of a business is what you pay for it to be. In this circumstance customers purchasing things at Goodwill are paying very little for the products they are purchasing, whereas at Old Navy customers are paying a good amount of money for their purchased products. This often leads to the investment in the environment of the store to vary. Goodwills environment was dark which prevented sight of available options, was dirty which made shopping uncomfortable and, clothing was disorganized which made finding things take longer. I believe these circumstances are the way they are because the company does not pay to staff employees that are responsible for cleaning, organizing, and, changing light bulbs. When I entered Old Navy an employee approached me, asked how I was, offered to help me find things, then provided their name, and welcomed me to find them if I had any further questions. When I entered Goodwill the only employees in sight where working the registers and had long lines, that left them unable to answer questions. When going to checkout at Old Navy I was asked if I found everything okay and was told to have a good day as I left. At Goodwill the employee gave me my total in a grumpy tone and handed me my receipt. Old Navy’s uniform consisted of season apparel clothing some of which was sold in store, at Goodwill they wore vests with the business name on them that were not very aesthetically pleasing. There were few similarities between employees of these two businesses except that both businesses employees wore name tags. I believe the poor interactions I encountered at Goodwill were because the store was understaffed and the employees were underpaid. At Old Navy it was clear they were happy to serve me because they were under No stress, this was not the case at
