The conflicts of interests Among the Impostors is a very well written and amazing novel following Luke on his quest to survive the population police and get back to his family. But along the way Luke is faced with a lot of conflicts and in the end these conflicts ultimately decide the how the story plays out. The first conflict Luke faces is when he is forced to go to school. This is a huge problem for Luke because he has never been to a school before in his life and he really doesn't know how to act around the other boys. I honestly felt bad for Luke at this point in the book because I too know what its like to go to a place that you have never been before and be really scared. I still remember my first day of school and let me tell …show more content…

It was the first day in my life that I didn't spend the whole day with my mom and I really felt lost without her. But just like Luke I sucked it up and got through the day and all of the other days to come. Another conflict that Luke is faced with early on in this novel is when he is being bullied and forced to do stupid things by his roommate Jackel boy. Luke wasn't even at the school for more that a day before he became the laughing stock of his whole floor. Everywhere he looked it seemed that Jackel boy was watching him and if Luke did anything stupid Jackel boy would make him pay for it. Because Luke is a third child he conflicts with society right away. Society sees him as not even being a human being, they see him as a lesser person than everyone else and Luke hates that about the society he lives in. So to stand up to the government Luke joins a group of people at his school just like him. And together they plan on bringing down the government together. Because of this a huge conflict forms and Luke is forced to choose sides between his new friends and living to see another day. Society on the other hand doesn't even see the movement Luke is a part of as a threat to there everyday lives. This just proves that the society Luke lives in has there morals completely out of order and Luke has his right in line. Whatever way you look at it Luke is constantly morale and ethically right and everyone around him is completely the opposite. Wether it was society forcing him to go to a school he had never been to before, or Jackel boy treating Luke completely wrong Luke is always forced with resolving a conflict that is both morally and ethically
