What are the emotions of the person? Emotions are states of mind that appear in specific circumstances. Emotions could be anger, which appears when something infuriates people, or joy, which emerges when people feel pleasure. In Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Martin’s character is negative because he is fearful and hostile. First, Martin is very fearful.
Adam Farmer obviously has some emotional/mental issues, so that makes him an Unbalanced Hero. However, Adam is self-aware. He knows exactly how he is thinking, feeling, acting, and reacting to things. He is very introspective and rather serious for his age. He also tends to act on impulse and does not think things through properly.
In some cases the author will use emotion to get a reaction out of the reader. For example, at the end of chapter four, the author was talking about the families of the airmen getting the letter saying that their son was Missing in Action. The author stated, “ She prayed that he was still alive, but she knew that this telegram was often followed by another” (Freeman,58). This statement makes the reader feel sad and feel bad for the families. This would then influence the reader to not like the Germans or the people that did this to the airmen.
In both the novel and the article, people begin to act inhuman and wild when they are under stressful or terrifying conditions because of the need to survive and the desire to seek safety.
One strong emotional reaction is when Aibileen always mentions something about her past like with her ex-husband, Clyde and her deceased son, Treelore. It’s sad when you keep on remembering your loved ones dying and leaving you. Another strong emotion I had was when every time the maids were discriminated against. It’s not fair that just because of your color that you have to be made fun of. My last strong reaction in the book in my opinion is when the maids get fired.
Daniel Moreland Mrs. Miller AP Literature I attest that the following work is solely my own, and that I have not borrowed, copied, cheated, or plagiarized. East of Eden Character Analysis: In John Steinbeck’s novel, East of Eden, many characters are used and developed throughout the story. Similar to the plot, many characters fall into similarity with biblical characters. Catherine Ames is a main character who is considered to be evil and shows similarities to the Serpent from the book of Genesis and Satan himself.
Throughout the story, Silence and Lies, the author, Jacqueline Green, connected the characters and plot together. For example, the plot is a stranger is daring multiple teens throughout echo bay to make them feel endangered. Furthermore, this mystery darer has motives for picking Sydney, Emerson, and Tenley. The antagonist of the story, darer, altered the way of the characters.
Mobina Shams “Benjamin, don’t underestimate the mentally ill”: The perceptions caused by others in Joon’s life. Self-perception is an element of behavior, and can be described as imperfect self-knowledge. Our self-image is created by society, its expectations, and the influence of others around us. Through the years, society has created conjectures that we need to meet in order to be accepted by others.
Cathy Ames has been criticized because she is completely evil. It has expressed throughout the novel that Cathy is inhuman. She has no emotion, no feelings, and no good in her. Many state that she is a symbol for Satan or a witch, who is pawn of Satan. People go so far in declaring that she is one of these evil spirits because even from birth she was filled with extreme evil and darkness, lacking characteristic that make up a human.
The author not only knows how to use character development, but he uses the literary element of dialogue. Without this element we would never see that everything ends up fine, we would also never see what the father was talking to himself about. The author actually uses dialogue to tell the whole story. He uses dialogue to get his points across, to make sure the reader felt exactly what he wanted them to feel. In the beginning, he was talking to himself saying that “My son sucks at soccer” (21).
I believe some adults act like they were never teenagers. This happens due to adults living in a different generation as a teenager. Looking at our lives, they question our motives. Living in such a laid- back and chilled teenage hood caused adults to stiffen and toughen up due to the changes throughout the year.
