Most college athletes will not have time to go to classes, practice for their sport, and spend time working at a job. This leads to them having to take out loans and going into debt. So if colleges added a way for athletes to get paid while practicing it would be very beneficial. College athletes deserve to be paid because they invest time and effort, risk injuries, and do most of the advertising for their sport.
Since the NCAA was founded in 1906 college athletics have always been different, there was now an organization that would keep college athletics in check. Student-athletes are the key to college sports and most colleges as well as NCAA profits which is why they should be paid. These athletes put the majority of their time and effort into sports in addition to getting an education, but the revenue alone should be able to pay off the athlete. The argument is that there should be a difference between professionals and collegiate athletes. And, not all colleges make enough money from sports to be able to pay all their athletes.
Should college athletes be paid? I think they should. I found three main reason why other people and myself think that college athletes deserve pay. One, you can just pay the sports that produce the most revenue. Two, these student athletes put in lots of work and even sometimes have to miss class to go to the sports event.
Getting paid in college would help teach these players some responsibility before they are rewarded a big NFL/NBA contract.
