Gatlin Farrington 12/1 P.4 Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is an excellent utopian/dystopian fictional story about a man who fights for the freedom to read. The government in this world has made almost every book (with a few exceptions) illegal. They have done this due to the contradictory ideas found in them. It was thought that all of the contradictions might confuse citizens on what is the truth and what isn’t.
Fahrenheit 451 is a book by Ray Bradbury about people who live in a world where reading is illegal. They can read small things such as signs and such but reading deeply like books is illegal. They all know how to read buy they are forbidden to. Instead they are all plugged in, only watching Tv or Listening to music. Bradbury feels a this will be the future if we continue down the oath we are going, and I think he's right.

Graff, who grew up in a tough working class Chicago neighborhood, grew up thinking reading was boring and irrelevant. The illusion of a perfect society can anesthetize people from what makes them human–their feelings expressed towards one another. In Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, denying one's feelings can lead to sadness and depression which is a perfect reason why people in the society of 451 commit suicide. Books have always been an alternate world to escape to and learn more about the world around you. But that’s a privilege some do not have.
