The book is an incredible story about a girl named Emma Edmonds, Emma wanted to join the civil war, so she named herself Frank Thompson and chopped her hair to look like a boy, she joined in as a union field nurse, training hard everyday. She couldn’t keep it a secret about being a girl so she told her master’s wife and she was stunted.
