The gallant’s article mainly talks about how the lack of motivation is killing the company. According to Gallant (2013), “Motivation is the force that converts intention into action,” and if employees are not motivated then the company will not reach its goal (para 1). Gallant also said that there are two types of motivation known as intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The article also introduced different managerial practices that might destroy motivation. These management practices are known as poor feedback, fostering a competitive work climate, etc. Finally, the article explains the different ways that a manager can motivate employees.

According to Gallant (2013), “When employees perceive corporate policies or individual treatment as unfair or hypocritical, not only are they less inclined to perform tasks optimally, they distance themselves from the organization. In the worst cases, they reject it and leave it altogether” (para 4). This is why my coworkers and I left the company, which hurts that company due to a high turnover rate.
